Materials
This pattern can be worked with any weight of yarn and the corresponding hook. I recommend you start with a 3 or 4 weight yarn. I’m using a #4 worsted weight yarn and size I (5.5mm) crochet hook.

This pattern is worked by making one panel first and then using the join as you go (jayg) method to connect the second half of the project as it is worked.

With Main Color
Foundation Double Crochet – Foundation double crochet of 102
Chain Foundation – Chain 104, double crochet in 3rd chain from hook and each stitch across. 102 total double crochets.
Row 1: Chain 2 and turn (Chain 2 does not count as a stitch at any point in this pattern). Double crochet in the top of next 14 double crochets, switching to color A at end of stitch 14. Double crochet in next 4 stitches, carrying along main color as you work. Switch to main color at end of 4th stitch. Double crochet in next 4 stitches, carrying along color A as you work. Switch to color A at end of 4th stitch. Do not carry main color. Work 84 double crochets until you reach the end of the row.
Row 2: Chain 2 and turn. Double crochet in the top of next 84 double crochets, switching to main color at end of stitch 84. Double crochet in next 4 stitches, carrying along color A as you work.
